Rental Policy

Thank you for choosing Melbourne Fleet Rentals. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to the following rental policy. Please review this policy carefully to ensure a smooth and enjoyable rental experience.

1. Rental Eligibility

• Age Requirement: Renters must be at least 21 years old and have held a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 1 year.

• Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license (for Australian residents or international drivers) must be presented at the time of rental. International drivers must provide an English-translated license if required.

• Additional Drivers: Any additional drivers must be disclosed and approved at the time of booking. Additional drivers must meet the same eligibility requirements.

2. Booking & Payment

• Booking Confirmation: A valid payment method must be provided to confirm your booking.

• Payment Methods: We accept credit cards, debit cards, and cash on delivery for payment.

• No Deposit: We do not require a security deposit to book a rental. The full rental amount is due at the time of vehicle pickup.

3. Vehicle Usage

• Authorized Use: The vehicle must only be driven by the authorized driver(s) listed on the rental agreement.

• Prohibited Uses: The vehicle may not be used for:

  • Racing, off-road driving, or any illegal activities.

  • Towing or transporting goods exceeding the vehicle’s load limit.

  • Allowing an unapproved driver to operate the vehicle.

• Mileage: Most vehicles come with a daily mileage limit. Additional charges may apply if the limit is exceeded.

4. Insurance & Liability

• Basic Insurance: Basic insurance is included in the rental price. This covers the vehicle in case of accidental damage.

• Excess: An excess may apply for damages not covered by insurance. Additional coverage can be purchased at the time of booking to reduce the excess.

• Exclusions: Insurance does not cover damages due to reckless driving, off-road use, or failure to follow traffic laws.

5. Fuel Policy

• Fuel Level: The vehicle will be provided with a full tank of fuel. Renters must return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel.

• Refueling Charges: If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than provided, a refueling fee will apply.

6. Vehicle Pickup & Return

• Pickup: Vehicles must be picked up at the scheduled time. Late pickups may result in a reduced rental time or additional charges.

• Return: Vehicles must be returned on the agreed return date and time. Late returns may incur additional daily charges.

• Condition of Vehicle: The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was at the time of pickup. Any damages or excessive cleaning required will result in additional charges.

7. Roadside Assistance

• Emergency Assistance: 24/7 roadside assistance is available in case of emergencies during your rental period. Please contact us immediately if any issues arise.

• Negligence: Additional fees will apply if the need for roadside assistance results from the renter’s negligence (e.g., running out of fuel, lost keys).

8. Cancellations & Modifications

• Cancellations: Cancellations made 24 hours before pickup are free of charge. Cancellations within 24 hours of the rental start date may incur a cancellation fee.

• Modifications: If you need to modify your booking (dates, vehicle type, etc.), please contact us as soon as possible. We will accommodate changes based on availability.

9. Tolls & Fines

• Tolls: Renters are responsible for any toll charges incurred during the rental period. These will be billed separately.

• Traffic Fines: Renters are responsible for paying any traffic fines, parking tickets, or violations incurred during the rental period.

10. Privacy & Data Protection

• We are committed to protecting your privacy and will only use your personal information for the purpose of processing your booking, communicating with you, and providing a seamless rental experience. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

11. Modifications to the Rental Policy

• Melbourne Fleet Rentals reserves the right to update and modify this rental policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page and will apply to all future rentals.
